It is possible for F1 trainees to swap their provisionally allocated F2 programme via the STFS swap shop which is usually held in January of the F1 year.
Swap Shop Timeline:
| 23 January 2013 | Foundation doctors advised of F2 Allocation |
| 1 February 2013 | Swap Shop registration opens |
| 22 February 2013 | Swap Shop registration closes |
| 5 March 2013 | F2 Swap Shop opens |
| 26 March 2013 | F2 Swap Shop closes |
| 5 April 2013 | Foundation doctors are informed of decision of Swap Shop application |
| Early April 2013 | F2 allocation finalised and Trusts informed of their allocated F2 2013 doctors |
